Plenty of Manchester City fans have been looking back gleefully at a pivotal moment in the 2013/14 Premier League title race, one which they ultimately won.
Six years ago today, City’s title rivals Liverpool blew a three-goal lead away to Crystal Palace in the final 11 minutes at Selhurst Park, a result which opened the door for the Etihad Stadium outfit to clinch the title by winning their final two games against Aston Villa and West Ham.
On the anniversary of ‘Crystanbul’, Twitter channel @City_Xtra shared a video featuring the Eagles’ three goals and the post-match tears of then-Liverpool striker Luis Suarez as he was glumly consoled by team-mate Steven Gerrard.

Manchester City had already been given a boost by Chelsea beating the Reds a week earlier, with Manuel Pellegrini’s men winning at Crystal Palace on the same day, and late goals from Damien Delaney and Dwight Gayle (two) left Liverpool stunned at Selhurst Park in a dramatic Monday night fixture.
These City fans on Twitter loved watching the Merseysiders’ title dreams collapse, with one supporter calling it “my new favourite video“. Here is a flavour of their reactions:
