Manchester City: Fans grateful over Pep Guardiola comments on starting Phil Foden

Having lost the Manchester derby and drawn 2-2 away at Newcastle despite a wonderful performance at Burnley midweek, it seems manager Pep Guardiola has given supporters something to be excited about heading into their clash with Dinamo Zagreb.
Manchester City are already through to the Champions League knockout rounds but are yet to cement their place as group winners, with a victory in Zagreb ensuring that they will enter the last 16 with the pick of second-placed group opponents – potentially ensuring a safer passage to the quarter-finals.
Of course, anything can happen in football, but manager Guardiola thinks it is high time to put his faith in midfield whizkid Phil Foden for the clash in Croatia.
Fans and pundits alike have been calling for the Englishman to start more regularly, with Foden making an impact in their last outing against Dinamo – scoring the second in a 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter over their manager’s promise:
Thank you Pep

Love David Silva but I think it is Foden time.

He’s always been ready, but you have chosen players who play for the remuneration rather than the badge on their chest. Phil Foden is a badge player!

Trust Foden.

Seeing as the title hopes are all but gone there is no reason not to give Foden an extended run in the first team starting 11.
