Manchester City: Fans gush over much-needed Oleksandr Zinchenko update

After succumbing to a 2-2 draw at the weekend away to Newcastle United, taking the lead twice, Manchester City find themselves 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool – but a crucial injury update surrounding Oleksandr Zinchenko has supporters excited over positive news.
Raheem Sterling gave City the lead with an acute finish before Jetro Willems fired home a stunning equaliser in the first half – with supporters going into raptures in the away end when Kevin De Bruyne thundered a half volley off the crossbar in the last ten minutes which looked like the winning goal.
However, with Jonjo Shelvey equalising for the hosts moments later, Pep Guardiola’s side conceded more dropped points in a title race which looks more and more like slipping away.
After another bad weekend, an injury update regarding Zinchenko has delivered some positive news – with the Ukranian returning to first-team training.
As a result, supporters were quick to gush over the announcement on Twitter – here’s what they had to say.
