After a photo of Lautaro Martinez’ brother emerged on social media of him wearing a Manchester City jersey, some Sky Blues supporters have hyped up links with the Inter Milan striker – with some suggesting he could be a potential future replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Could Lautaro Martinez replace Sergio Aguero?
The San Siro man has been touted (via Mundo Deportivo) to sign at the Etihad in recent weeks, especially considering City legend Aguero is approaching the twilight years of his career – with fellow blues striker Gabriel Jesus potentially needing a partner up front.
Martinez, who has bagged eight goals in 14 Serie A starts for the league leaders this season, is seen as a hot prospect throughout Europe – with his photo revelation getting a lot of supporters buzzing over the Argentine penning a deal at Eastlands.
In response to the picture, the general consensus among supporters is one of excitement – with some fans lauding the striker as a favourable addition to Pep Guardiola’s side. Indeed, it seemed to spark memories of a certain Isco, who was pictured wearing a Manchester City top amid links with a move to the club a number of years ago.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Shades of Isco

Pep please get us him or Havertz once Sane leaves. Also we NEED to either get Koulibaly or hijack Ake to Chelsea so we can sign him
