Following the news that City Football Group have landed another club in their expanding portfolio across the globe, opening up yet another revenue stream along with their long list of acquisitions, Manchester City fans hilariously ask why that money isn’t being invested in another defender whilst also mixing in some praise.
The conglomerate has already purchased huge stakes in various football clubs around the world, including Melbourne City, Girona, New York City and Manchester City themselves – with their foot print now evolving to India in the form of Mumbai City – a potentially massive money maker given the growing popularity of the sport and huge population of potential supporters.
According to journalist Jack Gaughan via City Xtra, this isn’t the end goal either – with ambitions to buy clubs in Brazil and Mexico also potentially on the horizon given football’s extreme popularity in the Americas.
However, despite the huge financial benefits, City supporters have hilariously asked for another much-needed centre-back instead as well as praising the effort – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Can we get a centre back instead?
