Manchester City: Fans loved Benjani’s celebration in Vincent Kompany’s testimonial

Vincent Kompany’s testimonial ended in a 2-2 draw between a Manchester City Legends team and Premier League All-Stars line-up at the Etihad Stadium.

The Manchester City team equalised in the 90th minute through former striker Benjani Mwaruwari, whose goal and subsequent celebration were shared in a video clip by @City_Xtra on Twitter.

He celebrated the goal by pointing forwards three times before swinging an outstretched arm and pointed finger in an invisible arc, evoking memories of a goal celebration from his Manchester City debut in 2008 against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

He had only come to the Etihad a week previously and stayed until his contract expired in June 2010, having been loaned out to Sunderland for part of the 2009/10 season.

The ex-Zimbabwe international, who also played in the Premier League for Portsmouth and Blackburn, made just 31 appearances for Manchester City, scoring seven times for the club.

These Manchester City fans on Twitter loved his nostalgic celebration in Kompany’s testimonial:
