Manchester City: Fans question decision to send Aleix Garcia out on loan

Manchester City midfielder Aleix Garcia completed a season-long loan move to Belgian club Royal Excel Mouscron yesterday evening, as confirmed by the club’s official Twitter channel @ManCity.

This is the third time that the 22-year-old defensive midfielder has been loaned out by the Premier League champions, having had two year-long spells at Spanish outfit Girona in 2017/18 and 2018/19.

Garcia, who is a Spanish Under-21 international, signed for Manchester City four years ago, but has only made nine senior appearances for the club.

Eight of those came under Pep Guardiola in the 2016/17 season, with four in domestic cup competitions and just four in the Premier League. He has only started one league game for Manchester City, with his Premier League experience amounting to 76 minutes in total.

He has at least had regular game time at Girona, for whom he scored three times in 55 games.

These Manchester City fans questioned the decision to loan him out again, with some feeling that he should have been kept, and others believing that a permanent move would have been best:

Were Manchester City right to loan out Garcia again or should they just decide to either give him a chance or sell him outright? Give us your thoughts by commenting below!
