Manchester City youngster Lorenzo Gonzalez has joined Malaga on loan for the 2019/20 season, as reported by Spanish media outlet Marca.
The 19-year-old striker, who was born in Spain but is an underage international with Switzerland, has signed a one-year deal at Malaga – reportedly in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
With his contract at the Etihad Stadium expiring next summer, as noted by El Desmarque, Gonzalez yesterday posted an emotional farewell message to his former colleagues in the Manchester City academy on his Twitter account @Lorenzo9Lg.

He played with the academy of Swiss club Servette as a boy before joining Manchester City in 2016 despite interest from Real Madrid, as reported by Marca.
He leaves the club after scoring 25 goals in 58 appearances for their youth and reserve teams and these Manchester City fans on Twitter wished him a fond farewell, with one fan even tipping him to replace Sergio Aguero one day.
Wish you all the best mate, you’ll be a star one day sure of that #OnceABlue

Good luck. Not every young player at the academy will play in the first team, but hopefully every player will grow as people and as footballers so like you they get a move to a top club like @MalagaCF_en. All the best and I hope your career takes you where your talent deserves.
