Manchester City: Fans react to Fernandinho contract update

Manchester City will offer Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho a new contract, according to the Sun.
Does Fernandinho have another season left in him?
Yes

No

The 34-year-old has already featured in 22 games for City this season, despite the arrival of Rodri in midfield.
Fernandinho has been deputising at centre-half in all of those appearances, stepping up since the departure of Vincent Kompany and injury to Aymeric Laporte. In fact, the veteran has made the second-highest number of interceptions per game in this squad (2, per WhoScored), as well as ranking the same for clearances over the same period (3.1).
Operating as both a midfielder and a defender this season, his importance is obvious.
His contract was set to expire at the end of the season but Pep Guardiola is now understandably reluctant to lose one of his most experienced players, especially as David Silva will depart in the summer.
The Brazilian joined City from Shakhtar Donetsk back in 2013 and has gone on to make nearly 300 appearances for the club.
In that time, he’s won the Premier League three times, as well as four League Cups.
Some City fans were ecstatic that one of their greatest players looks to be staying at the Etihad, here’s how some of them reacted:
