Manchester City: Fans reminisce about Edin Dzeko after club’s tweet

Manchester City shared a clip on their official Twitter channel @ManCity on Thursday showing a goal from the club’s former striker Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnian’s header against Crystal Palace during the 2013/14 season was chosen as their Goal of the Day, with the caption ‘Ahhh, trademark Dzeko’ followed by a fire emoji. [via @ManCity].

The clip shows Dzeko finishing to the net from an exquisite Yaya Toure pass in the game at Selhurst Park six seasons ago, a match that Manchester City won 2-0 during the Premier League title run-in as they eventually pipped Liverpool to the crown. Pep Guardiola’s team visit the Eagles in league action on Saturday evening.

The 33-year-old, who has played with Roma since leaving the Etihad Stadium in 2015, scored 72 goals in 189 appearances for Manchester City and won two Premier League titles at the club, as well as the FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield.

On the day that City won their first Premier League crown in 2012, he scored a late equaliser against QPR just prior to Sergio Aguero’s memorable goal that ensured the victory they needed to clinch the title. [via BBC]
