After Jadon Sancho’s latest heroics for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, scoring in their 3-3 draw with RB Leipzig for the seventh successive game before hobbling off with an injury, Raheem Sterling heaped praise on his former teammate – prompting some City supporters to theorise a potential return to the Sky Blues.
If Leroy Sane leaves Manchester City, would you take Sancho back?
The Englishman left the Etihad Stadium for Dortmund in 2017, since then going on to turn the heads of pundits and fans alike with his fine form on the continent – scoring nine goals and assisting nine others in the Bundesliga so far this campaign.
Sterling, his international teammate, has also been in electric form this campaign – scoring nine goals himself and assisting one in the Premier League. Indeed, he took to Twitter recently to praise his compatriot for his exploits out in Germany, sending City fans online into meltdown.
With this in mind, some City supporters may think about what a potentially brilliant partnership between these two wingers would look like – and now they theorise it could happen after Sterling’s tweet about Sancho.
Here’s what they had to say on social media.
