Manchester City: Fans were disappointed with what they saw from Raheem Sterling

Some Manchester City fans were left feeling disappointed with the performance of Raheem Sterling, despite coming away with all three points against Chelsea on Saturday evening.
The Citizens managed to come from behind when Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez gave Pep Guardiola’s side the victory at the Etihad Stadium following an opener from N’Golo Kante (BBC).
The win meant the current reigning and defending Premier League champions kept the distance between them and Liverpool the same after witnessing Jurgen Klopp’s side overcome a difficult challenge at Crystal Palace.
However, whilst the win is likely going to have delighted a number of fans following the international break, many were far from impressed with what they saw from Sterling.
According to the data collected by WhoScored, the 24-year-old appeared to be rather anonymous as he had a next-to-no impact on proceedings on Saturday evening.
The England international failed to have a shot and failed to provide any of his team-mates with a key pass – although he was unfortunate to be denied a goal in the final stages of the game when he was controversially ruled out for offside by VAR; something he feels he is cursed by now (The Mirror).
Indeed, supporters took to Twitter to provide their instant reactions to Sterling’s performance on the day. Here are just some of those opinions…
Sterling has been Soo poor!

Sterling has been below average and David Silva has been simply awful, would bring him off for Foden at half time but that obviously isn’t happening. Other than that after we equalized we’ve looked good, pressured them and been on top.

Thought De Bruyne was one of the few looking lively myself! Sterling has been pretty anonymous and Cancelo & Mendy nowhere near aggressive enough.

Sterling horrible so far
Has he even touched the ball?— Mohit (@Mohit_MCFC) November 23, 2019
Our left hand side was awful for the first 40 minutes. Silva and Sterling hardly involved. Mahrez misplaced a lot of passes initially. But after the first goal we were better team. Need one more goal to finish this off.
