Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern really have been pleased with the business their club has done so far this summer ahead of the new campaign.
The men from the Etihad have certainly been busy. They’ve signed Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker, Danilo and Bernard Mendy most significantly and there’s a good chance there’s plenty more to come.
Who that involves, then, remains to be seen, but, according to Football Whispers City could just try and sign Naby Keita – beating Liverpool to the punch in the process.
Our landlord has certainly been surprised by this development, then, and here’s his take on it:
Keita is clearly one of the most sought-after players in Europe at the moment but Liverpool haven’t been able to get any deal over the line.
City, then, with their extra financial power, might just fancy their chances at signing the box-to-box Red Bull Leipzig man as they look to bring in a long term replacement for midfield star Yaya Toure.
Our Liverpool punters, meanwhile, will be far from impressed if the club misses out on the midfielder to then see him end up at City.
