As quoted by beIN Sports, Manchester City’s Bacary Sagna has admitted that he does not know if he will be at the club after this season.
Our resident Citizens here in the Transfer Tavern are a bit split on the right back and his use to the team.
For some he is still a good option to have with his pace and Premier League experience but for others, they cite the fact that he probably wouldn’t get in any of their title rival’s sides and that he isn’t good enough.
Pep Guardiola has rotated between the Frenchman and Pablo Zabaleta this season whilst the young Pablo Maffeo has also emerged this year ,and so the former Arsenal man does not really know what the future holds.
Sagna said: “My contract expires at the end of the season
“I am not thinking about it, though. I just take things as they come and try to give my all.
“There have been no negotiations as of yet, so I do not know what will happen.”
Sagna has appeared six times in the Premier League this season as Guardiola looks to win the title at the first time of asking in this country.
The Citizens are currently just a point behind leaders Chelsea and behind Liverpool on goal difference, so are well in the hunt for the crown.
They beat Burnley last time out and have a massive game against the Blues this weekend at the Etihad.
