In a rather surprising turn of events, Liverpool couldn’t overturn the 1-0 deficit from the Wanda Metropolitano and ended up losing the game 3-2 at Anfield too, crashing out of the Champions League in the process.
And yes, Adrian’s mistakes will definitely be analysed left and right and to say that the Reds were bad on the night would be foolish but one thing we know for sure now is that their elimination blown the competition wide open.
Naturally, the reigning champions are usually always among the favourites but with Jurgen Klopp’s troops out of the picture, Miguel Delaney believes it’s Manchester City who can now go all the way and win it.
He said so on his Twitter profile.
Must say, don't really rate this Atletico, at least compared to previous Simeone sides. I don't think they get through that without Adrian. It's not a great CL this season. City should now really fancy it.

And when everything is said and done and with Pep Guardiola’s nemesis out of the competition, this truly could be Man City’s big chance to finally clinch European silverware for their cabinet.
Especially if that ban really does go through and this becomes their only chance of winning the Champions League for the next couple of years…
