Manchester City travel to the Emirates Stadium desperately needing a win to reignite their title challenge.
Defeat in the Manchester derby was City’s fourth of the season in 16 games, leaving them well off the pace of leaders Liverpool.
Do Manchester City need to sign a new left-back?
Injuries are causing issues for Pep Guardiola, with Aymeric Laporte, Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane all significant absentees ahead of their trip to take on Arsenal.
Their confidence will have been raised by a comfortable win in the Champions League, beating Dinamo Zagreb 4-1.
Gabriel Jesus got a hat-trick in that game, and City will need him at his best for their trip to North London.
So how will they lineup?
Injuries have haunted City’s defence. Fernandinho continues to deputise at the heart of the defence alongside Nicolas Otamendi; the Argentinian scored their consolation goal against United. Kyle Walker continues on the right, as his main competition, Joao Cancelo, could get his opportunity on the left. The former Juventus man has started just four games in the Premier League this season, so he is in desperate need of game time. Benjamin Mendy and Angelino have been rotated on that side, but neither have nailed down that spot.
Guardiola could shuffle the pack in midfield. Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne look set to continue. The latter Belgian has more assists than any other player in the Premier League this season. Elsewhere, David Silva may make way for Phil Foden. The promising youngster lit up the game against Zagreb in midweek, scoring and assisting for City. He’s yet to start in the league this season and has played just 84 minutes in total, so he will be desperate for the opportunity.
The front three arguably picks itself at present thanks to the injury situation. Gabriel Jesus now has five goals in his last three appearances so should be full of confidence for the game. Raheem Sterling has 15 goals and five assists in 23 games, making him one of the most dangerous players in this team. Then it is a toss-up between Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez.
