In the build up to Manchester City’s highly-anticipated clash at Anfield, even Liverpool fans are sticking up for Sergio Aguero following Adrian Durham’s bizarre take.
Speaking to talkSPORT in the build up of City’s trip to league leaders Liverpool, Durham said that manager Pep Guardiola would’ve in fact sold Aguero by now if he hadn’t scored that title-clinching last minute goal against QPR on the final day of the 2011/2012 season.
Who should be starting for Manchester City, Sergio Aguero or Gabriel Jesus?
Despite the Argentine currently sitting top of the Citizens’ all-time top scorers list, leading the line for City over the past eight seasons, even with numerous spells out through injury, Durham suggested that Guardiola doesn’t rate him and would instead prefer to play Gabriel Jesus.
However, there is no denying that Aguero is deservedly City’s first choice if his goal return is anything to go by – and supporters from various Premier League clubs were quick to let him know that.
Here’s how they responded to the claims.
More nonsense from this clown. Oh my god 😂😂😂😂😂

Surely this is a wind up? He’s consistently blasted goals in and I’m gutted United didn’t pay the £40m for him when he was available

Or maybe he plays Aguero because he is one of the best strikers the Premier League has ever seen 🤔

Oh Adrian you little tinker, say something nonsensical / controversial, sit back and charge people £6 a minute to respond. He plays him cause he’s the best, he’s scored 240+ goals in 350 games, won 4 prems, 4 league cups & an FA Cup & has been a mainstay under 3 City managers 👍
