Our Manchester City fans’ eyes are watering here in the Transfer Tavern as they take in the latest transfer rumours doing the rounds.
The Citizens have, of course, grown used to seeing their side fork out the millions for new players with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, John Stones and Raheem Sterling all joining over the years for varied fees.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg, of course, but things could all pale into insignificance with one of the latest rumours from Sky Sport Italia (via football-italia.net) claiming a massive move could be on the way.
The Italian outlet is claiming, and you may want to sit down before we tell you this, that City are lining up a whopping bid for young AC Milan stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma worth between €120m-€150m (£103m-130m.)
We simply couldn’t believe our eyes when we read this, even if football’s spending has been inflated recently, because of the huge figures involved and the age of the player.
Donnarumma, of course, is a very good young goalkeeper but is surely worth nowhere near that amount and should such a deal go through we’d be very shocked.
