Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a strong end to the season and that feeling has been buoyed by The Mirror’s report concerning Gabriel Jesus.
Despite a blip earlier on in the campaign the men from the Etihad have enjoyed a good season up until now and could still win two trophies – the FA Cup and the Champions League.
Whatever happens, though, a finish in the top four is the minimum requirement and our landlord feels that the return of the young Brazilian striker will coincide with that.
The boy from Palmeiras has quickly gone about showing what he can do but an injury to his metatarsal has seen him on the side-lines of late.
There’s every chance, though, as per the report, that he’ll be back for the all-important final few games of the season.
The striker said on social media (as quoted by The Mirror:) “When will I be back? Two months from now, God willing.”
That would bring him back into contention in April and his goals could just be the difference as the top four race looks set to go to the wire.
Fortunately for City, they have a man by the name of Sergio Aguero and he should be more than able to do the job between now and then.
