Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to an exciting fight towards the end of the season and, as per Norwegian outlet VG (via The Manchester Evening News,) summer could be good, too.
The Citizens have had an up and down season of real extremes so far. When they’re good they can beat anyone but when they’re bad they look like they’ve never met each other before.
Pep Guardiola’s job, then, is to find some consistency over the coming years and it appears his plans for the future are continuing in the shape of young midfielder Ghayas Zahid.
Zahid is currently with Norwegian side Valerenga and has claimed he could have moved to City in the January window – something that, of course, did not come to light.
It looks like that was just a postponement of the move, though, with the deal apparently to go through in the summer.
The youngster said of the situation:
“It seemed like I was going to join them, but they changed their minds two days before the transfer window closed.
“They prefer to wait until the summer.”
Summer it is then for City and Zahid, though it’s thought he may then go out on loan to the likes of New York City FC who the Citizens have connections with.
