Clearly, optimism is at an all-time high and no wonder why because Pep Guardiola, the mastermind, is at the wheel. That's how the song should go, right? Pep's at the wheel. Oh, how good it feels.

Indeed, the Spanish coach is arguably the best in football right now and Manchester City are lucky to have him and the calibre of players they boast as well.

Not one position in their team is weak and it's a tough ask if you're thinking of what the Citizens need to do in order to improve. Still, with the legendary Vincent Kompany out of contract this summer and Nicolas Otamendi doing little to convince, they may suddenly need another centre-back.

One who is full of potential yet ability now is French U20 star Boubacar Kamara and he is the player City must look into signing.

Kamara, (who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt) is a top youngster who would be a great signing for the Premier League champions, given how many opportunities he could potentially get under the iconic Spanish coach.

Seeing as the 19-year-old is already making a name for himself with Marseille, it's not unrealistic for him to then make the jump to playing for Manchester City.

Kamara has made 28 appearances in all competitions so far, a signal of how far he's come in a short space of time and secondly, how much Marseille trust him. He's a confident, modern-day defender that likes to pass the ball around which will fit in with City's style. As a youngster still finding his feet, he is also adaptable and can be played in left-back or even defensive-midfield is necessary, something City clearly like given the tactical complexity of life under Guardiola.

But one thing is for sure is that Pep Guardiola is a genius when it comes to nurturing talent and Boubacar Kamara (who has been linked with the likes of Chelsea by Mercato365) certainly fits that criteria.
