Manchester City should still be weighing up a move for Danny Rose

Manchester City have had a quiet transfer window compared to recent seasons.

Due to the abundance of talent on offer at the Etihad making them odds-on favourites in the Premier League betting markets, Pep Guardiola has made just one major signing this summer. After pursuing him in January, Guardiola finally completed a deal for Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez. City also completed a £3m deal for Dutch youngster – Philippe Sandler.

The Spaniard still wants to add another central midfielder to his squad as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho in the engine room. It might be wise to sign another left-back given Benjamin Mendy’s injury troubles. The Frenchman missed the majority of last season meaning Fabian Delph was forced to fill in.

One man they should consider is Tottenham defender – Danny Rose. Valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, the England international will be allowed to leave the club this summer, according to reports. Rose made just ten Premier League appearances last season, struggling for fitness and falling behind Ben Davies in the pecking order.

The 28-year-old remains one of the best left-backs in the league and would add some serious competition to Mendy. Rose was crucial to the Lilywhites during the 2016/17 season where he scored and assisted two in 18 Premier League appearances. He averaged a fantastic 7.42 average rating according to WhoScored.

After seeing the success Kyle Walker has had since swapping London for Manchester, Rose would surely be interested in doing the same. If the price is right, City must consider bringing him to the Etihad this summer.
