Manchester City: Some fans want Mikel Arteta to become manager when Pep Guardiola leaves

Plenty of Manchester City fans have called for Mikel Arteta, currently the assistant to first team manager Pep Guardiola, to be given the main job when the latter eventually leaves the club.
Can Manchester City still win the title?
Yes

No

Manchester City-focused Twitter channel @City_Chief asked its followers for their thoughts on Arteta potentially taking over from his boss when Guardiola’s time in charge comes to an end.

The 37-year-old was appointed as Guardiola’s assistant in July 2016, as per mancity.com, and stood in for the manager for a Champions League game against Lyon last season when the ex-Barcelona boss was serving a touchline ban in European competition, as noted by ESPN.
Arteta has never been a first team manager, although he was named as a potential successor to Arsene Wenger at former club Arsenal last year by both the BBC and The Guardian before the job was given to Unai Emery.
Both Guardiola and Arteta are currently contracted to their roles at the Etihad Stadium until summer 2021, and with seven trophies claimed since 2017, there is a strong chance that the manager will be afforded the opportunity to leave the club of his own accord.
These Manchester City fans on Twitter want Arteta to eventually replace his current boss as first team manager at the club:
been saying he should for years now, even before the media started so I hope it actually happens, I trust him

It’ll take time for the change to settle but I’d be happy with him
