Carlos Tevez may be handed a lifeline to end his miserable spell at Manchester City. It is reported that Real Madrid are interested in signing the 27-year-old Argentinean come January which will surely put a delightful smile on the striker.
Reports have suggested that City are looking into signing a winger, with Mancini looking to strengthen his squad in January. Madrid and Argentinean midfielder Angel Di Maria has been mentioned in a player-plus-cash offer for Tevez. Will he be the answer to solve Mancini’s problems in the wide area with only Adam Johnson being the only recognisable winger?
Tevez is currently at home in Buenos Aires and will report back to City on Thursday after completing his two week suspension. It is then, that Tevez will find out where his future lies, and with Madrid beckoning, Tevez will be hoping he can secure this deal.
What may hinder Tevez’s chances of landing this deal is his substantial wage demands. Not only will he cost Real Madrid a fee of around £35 million, but additionally the £250,000 weekly wages that follow. Currently Cristiano Ronaldo is Madrid’s highest earner with a weekly wage of £200,000. If Tevez were to overtake Ronaldo and become Real’s top earner, I’m sure the Portuguese winger will have something to say.
What we do know with Tevez and Ronaldo possibly being in the same team, is that tantrums can definitely be anticipated.
