Midfielder intends to stay put at Manchester City

Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been left debating whether they need this man in their squad, after he stated he has no intention of leaving.

Goal quote Fabian Delph has intending to stay put at the Etihad Stadium despite the former Aston Villa man making just five appearances this season, making his return from injury for the 5-0 FA Cup win over West Ham and making a brief appearance during last week’s draw with Tottenham.

The 27-year-old has seen his name linked with a host of sides in the Premier League and Championship, with loan deals and permanent deals being mentioned, but Delph himself wants to claw back into Pep Guardiola’s plans.

“It’s been a bit of a roller-coaster ride since I’ve been here, I’ve not managed to get going. But I’m over my injuries now and I feel really good so I’m ready to try to help out my team-mates.”

“A couple of mates have said to me, ‘You’ve been linked with X, Y and Z’ but I’ve not given it any thought. I’m happy here.”

“I’m obviously fit again and available for selection so I can get some more minutes and help the team to push on. I love it here. I’m working with the best players in the world, great management, great staff around me and I’m very, very happy here.”

Having spent a large chunk of the season out injured, Delph has played just 12 minutes since his return; which came off the bench in the 5-0 victory against West Ham.

In all likelihood, that number isn’t likely to improve by too much.

Linked with the likes of West Brom and Leeds United, Delph may be on the move this summer if opportunities don’t improve but will not have a shortage of suitors.

Our landlord believes Delph will stay put for now but expects his time at City to come to an end this season, as he’s tipped Pep Guardiola to spend big once again.
