Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are worried about the lack of signings with the transfer window closing in just over a month.

Clubs in the Premier League voted to bring deadline day forward so that all business is concluded before the start of the season. Therefore, the window will slam shut on August 9, two days before the 18/19 season commences. The reigning champions are yet to make a significant signing despite being heavily linked with Jorginho and Riyad Mahrez.

There has been no progress on moves for either player after weeks of pursuit. The signings would conclude City’s transfer business with Pep Guardiola only wanting to add two players to his squad. The Spaniard can then turn his attention to signing stars for the future.

One man who should be on his shortlist is Melbourne City prospect – Daniel Arzani. Valued at £450k by Transfermarkt, the 19-year-old is considered the brightest prospect in Australia and made his international debut during their World Cup campaign. As Melbourne are owned by the City Football Group, moving to Manchester seems extremely likely.

Arzani made 22 appearances in the A-League last season, scoring two and creating three. The youngster is technically gifted and loves to attack. Primarily a right winger, he is also comfortable on the left or as a number ten. His performances saw him named as the Young Australian Player of the Year.

He remains a raw talent but could develop into a world-class star at the Etihad.
