Life amongst the Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern is pretty sweet right now, following their recent summer spending.
It’s been a tale of full-backs for the Sky Blues propping up the bar, who really do fancy their chances of a Premier League title win now that Pep Guardiola has some options to shout about in those very berths.
So, as if our resident Citizens weren’t happy enough, reports from the Daily Mail have gone down a storm today. They claim that the spending up at the Etihad shows no signs of stopping, with Guardiola now said to be targeting a new forward.
Indeed, the report claims the club have not yet given up hope of luring Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez up to Manchester. Gunners chief Arsene Wenger has insisted he won’t sell to a rival again, though City have reportedly been encouraged.
Still, if that doesn’t happen, Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe is said to be another under consideration. The French international has emerged as one of the most talked about teenagers in world football, also being strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid.
The French champions are believed to value the 18-year-old at a whopping £120m and, while they recently complained about clubs trying to tap him up, there is still thought to be a possibility that a deal could happen.
Welcoming Mbappe or Sanchez into an already talent-packed frontline has our local City fans dreaming about world domination.
