Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a bright future under Pep Guardiola and, as quoted by The Guardian, the Spaniard seems to have in mind who he wants to lead the club’s line.
The Citizens went into this season as one of the favourites for the Premier League title but that bid certainly looks to be all but over now.
It’s been a pretty average season for our local Citizens, then, but the future certainly seems bright with some of their young players already building good reputations for themselves.
In particular, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus have impressed in their varying lengths at the club and their manager seems to feel they are the future of City going forward.
The former Barcelona manager said:
“Raz [Raheem Sterling] is playing in a row every three days at a high level, has scored a lot of goals, made assists, and is dangerous in the box; Gabriel is No. 9 for Brazil and Leroy – we spent a lot on him because we believe he has the potential. So the next three or four years will be the future of the club.
“But in the big clubs you have to achieve results immediately and that’s why they have to play good now, not in three years.”
Our landlord certainly thinks the three players could be very good players over the coming half-decade or so but he also reckons Sergio Aguero may have something to say about that over the coming seasons.
Could these three replace Sergio Aguero, City fans? Let us know below!
