Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern aren’t too sure what to make of their season so far and, as per The Sun, things could be set for a massive shake-up at the club.
The Citizens, if you care to cast your minds back to the start of the campaign, came out all guns blazing as they won ten games on the bounce in all competitions.
That run suggested that the Premier League title race was a done deal already but since, things have not been as sweet – despite a recent return to some good form.
Consistency and extra quality are needed at the club, then, and it appears that Pep Guardiola is going to tear his squad up in a bid to find both.
According to the report the Catalan manager is going to potentially get rid of eleven first team players in the summer and replace them with some quality signings – something that could total a £200 million gross spend.
The report suggests the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Virgil Van Dijk and David Alaba could all join the club and our landlord reckons that would surely see City become the favourites for next season’s title.
