Manchester City fans here in the Tavern are eyeing up success in all competitions, as the Citizens look like earning just reward for their efforts so far this season.
Indeed, City have been a level above any other team in English football so far this campaign, with the Etihad preparing to welcome its third Premier League title to the blue half of Manchester. However, the Citizens’ ambitions don’t stop there, as Guardiola looks to add to City’s trophy cabinet with victory in the League Cup final at the end of the month. Although, there does seem to be a sense of doubt surrounding the availability of one of their star men, as according to reports in the Guardian, Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus is in a race to be fit for the League Cup final clash.
The Brazilian is yet to resume training amid fears that the knee injury he suffered on New Year’s Eve may be more serious than first thought. Indeed, these fears were confirmed after Jesus missed City’s Champions League encounter with Basel, a date that Guardiola had previously expected the striker to return for.
Subsequently, Gabriel Jesus did have his leg brace removed at the start of the month, but signs aren’t good for City fans with him yet to return back to training with the side. And, this quite possibly could have huge consequences for the Citizens’ hopes of adding to their trophy cabinet, with him now believed to be in a race to be fit for Manchester City’s League Cup final clash on the 25th of February.
Gabriel Jesus was one of the stars for Manchester City so far this season, with his formidable goalscoring record evident in their dominant league position. Although, he’s been a big miss in the City side since New Year’s Eve as he continues to work his way back, but with him still in the race to return for the League Cup final it’s beginning to trouble many supporters.
