Report: Leeds make Man City talent prime target, Bielsa-Guardiola dynamic key to deal

Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will want to see a number of players join the club this summer to enhance their promotion aspirations.

The Whites have been looking for a new manager this summer following the dismissal of Paul Heckingbottom and it is widely thought that Marcelo Bielsa is expected to arrive in the near future.

However, the locals in the bar will want the club to continue to push hard with their recruitment drive and will be expecting the club to bring a new goalkeeper to Elland Road.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Manchester City’s Angus Gunn remains their prime target when it comes to finding a new shot-stopper. It is thought that a deal could be made easier if Bielsa eventually takes the reigns at Elland Road due to his relationship with Pep Guardiola.

The 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Norwich City, is not expected to make a breakthrough at the Etihad Stadium at the moment as Ederson has made the number one shirt his own, but Guardiola should be open to sending him out on loan once more in order to enhance his development.

Landlord’s Verdict

Leeds need a new goalkeeper as Felix Weidwald and Andy Lonergan are clearly not the answer, and Gunn would be a solid acquisition to the side if they are able to get a deal done.

The residents in the bar will want the club to try and bring the former England Under-21 star to Elland Road and will hope he can prove to be beneficial in their efforts to seal promotion to the Premier League.
