Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern have every faith in what Pep Guardiola is doing at their club – even with the goalkeeper situation.
The Citizens look to be getting back to their best at the moment but you have to feel that the club are only going to really become dominant if they can keep more clean sheets at the back.
That seems unlikely with Claudio Bravo about, though, and so a new signing looks to be the only option with Joe Hart clearly not in Pep’s plans.
That’s why, then, Portuguese newspaper A Bola’s report (via The Sun) is surely being welcomed by the local City punters here by the bar.
It claims that Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira has been in Manchester to discuss a move between his club and the Citizens for exciting goalkeeper Ederson Moraes.
At 23-years-old the Brazilian provides a much more suitable long-term option than either Bravo or Willy Caballero and these talks could just be the start of Guardiola finally fixing things at the back for City.
