Raheem Starling is currently locked in a contract stalemate with Manchester City.

The Mirror report that the Etihad outfit will consider a shock sale if the issue isn't resolved.

The debate around the ability of Raheem Stirling rages on. Some fight the case that his movement in crucial to the England team and that he is one of the national sides key players. However, in the World Cup his finishing came under real scrutiny. His lack of composure in one-on-ones in the World Cup left many wondering how he netted 18 Premier League goals for Manchester City last season. Sterling has scored just two goals in 44 England games.

Manchester City are one of the most talented sides in Europe. Raheem Sterling gets lots of opportunities to score, and as Manchester City dominate possession in the vast majority of their games, life is fairly easy for Raheem Sterling. Any winger would find it easier to look the part in a team the standard of the Sky Blues.

With the wealth available to Manchester City, there will be plenty of options open to Pep Guardiola should Raheem Sterling exit the Etihad.

With that in mind, here are two wing-wizards who would help Manchester City forget all about Raheem Sterling...

Florian Thauvin is one of the most electric wingers in Ligue 1.

The Frenchman helped Marseille reach a Europa League final last season. He netted 22 goals in Ligue 1 alone and 26 goals in all competitions. His game time was limited but he made the cut for Didier Deschamps 23 man France squad, a team so talented in won the World Cup.

Thauvin is gifted enough with his feet that he could easily slot into the technical ability that is required to be in a Pep Guardiola team. As his statistics suggests, he has a fine shot on him and is a much better finisher than Sterling.

With Thuavin on one wing and Leroy Sane the other, Manchester City would son have forgotten all about Raheem Sterling.

This would be an interesting move for Manchester City.

Things did not work out for Memphis Depay across Manchester for Manchester United, but he has been a revelation since moving to Lyon. Last time the Dutchman netted 19 Ligue 1 goals.

Another very gifted technical footballer, Depay is very direct and has made himself the star man at Lyon. Depay is ready for another crack at the Premier League.

He might turn out to haunt Manchester United if he was to move to Guardiola's City.
