Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are really looking forward to seeing what Pep Guardiola is going to do for their club over the coming years.
Indeed, this season has only shown flashes of what they might be able to do and so we should only expect improvements from here on in as he shapes his squad properly.
He’s certainly been quick to bring in the players he wants already with the likes of John Stones and Gabriel Jesus arriving whilst Ilkay Gundogan also came in.
He’s struggled with injuries this season, of course, but has looked good when he has played and so the club will surely be looking forward to seeing him in action once again soon.
That doesn’t look like it’ll be too far off, either, with him revealing that he should be ready for the start of 2017/18’s pre-season.
Speaking to Sirius XM and as quoted by The Manchester Evening News he said:
“Unfortunately my injury is a long-term injury, it takes quite a few months to recover, but I am okay with that. That is fine for me, I work hard.
“I just try to do the best every day and try to come back as soon as possible on the field. Hopefully I can start pre-season.”
Nearly there, then, City fans and it’ll surely be worth the wait for a player of his calibre.
