With a new full-back finally on board, the Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are happy to see the squad depart for the United States in good shape.
While there is still some work to do when it comes to strengthening the left side of defence, our resident Citizens are delighted about Pep Guardiola’s work in the market thus far, and are excited about the season ahead.
Indeed, with most of the first-team out across the pond, it seems their work in strengthening goes on regardless. According to ESPN, the Etihad giants are closing in on a double deal to land two promising starlets.
Red Star Belgrade duo Ivan and Luka Ilic are reportedly going to join the Premier League titans and continue their development in Serbia, until Luka turns 18 in two years.
Ivan, 18 already, is a highly-regarded defensive midfielder while 16-year-old Luka operates in a more advanced midfield position and broke a record as Red Star’s youngster ever first-team player back in April.
Both are understood to have been scouted numerous times in the past year or so and, following the signing of Douglas Luiz, the fans here in the Tavern are delighted to see their next generation being moulded already.
