Manchester United to battle in Man City in chase to sign Premier League midfielder

The Manchester United and Manchester City supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are often exchanging light-hearted banter with each other throughout the season, with next season unlikely to see any exception.

Both clubs will embark on new chapters in their history next season with both Manchester giants possessing new managers to lead them into the 2016/17 campaign.

Our landlord has spotted an article in The Sun which claims that the Premier League pair could be about to do battle for West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford, with both clubs extremely keen on signing the teenager.

The Hammers have already rejected a £10 million bid from an overseas club for the 17-year-old and the duo of Manchester clubs are now thought to be preparing their own moves for the youngster.

One Manchester United fan is chatting with one of the Tavern’s regulars over a pint of real ale and he believes that Oxford is one of the brightest prospects within the Premier League, stating that United should move fast to avoid missing out on the player.

Manchester United and Manchester City fans, would you welcome Oxford to your club? Is he good enough to improve your current squad?
