It was reported earlier this transfer window that Manchester United could be about to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo in one of the deals of the decade.
That rumour sent the boozy Red Devils berserk in the Transfer Tavern, and whilst that one didn’t materialise, a rumour pouring in to the pub today is one that could eclipse even the return of CR7.
The Guardian are reporting one of the most sensational rumours in recent memory, they are saying that none other than Brazilian Wonder boy, Neymar, has told Manchester United that he is open to signing from Barcelona.
The Winger, who couldn’t quite carry his nation to World Cup glory last summer, is yet to feature in this season due to a strange case of the mumps.
Despite not seeing him play this term, it looks like Ed Woodward could well be prepared to smash the world record transfer fee and pay up a whopping £137.8 million to trigger the ex-Santos player’s release clause.
Our resident United fans here in the Tavern simply cannot believe this news and admit it would be an unbelievable signing, but admit they can’t see the move actually happening!
