Manchester United have pleased the Football Transfer Tavern as they look set to offer striker Wayne Rooney a new big money deal to stay at the club, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Rooney has been in fine form this season and now looks settled at United after initially requesting a move at the start of the summer.
Chelsea and Arsenal both had bids rejected for the England striker in January and despite David Moyes initially being unsure on Rooney’s role in the team, Rooney is now the main man once again at Old Trafford.
United are set to offer Rooney a new deal worth a whopping £50 million in order to keep him happy, a deal that should keep the striker at Old Trafford for the rest of his career.
While Moyes is keen to keep Rooney, the former Everton boss appears happy to let a number of squad players leave in January with the likes of Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia heading for the door.
Will Rooney pledge his long-term allegiance to Manchester United? Let us know your thoughts below.
