The Sun have a sensational claim for us here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they think that Manchester Unitedcould be set to lose one of their long serving players.
It has been claimed that Patrice Evra could well be set to look towards the exit door this summer after David Moyes made it clear just how much he wants Everton left back Leighton Baines.
Evra of course is the current number one in that position and is looking for another couple of years as first choice at the top level – especially with the 2014 World Cup approaching.
Now it seems that may well be at a club other than United with Moyes willing to bid up to £20 million for his former star man Baines.
As one of our punters quips, bidding such a huge amount of money for a player is clearly a show of intent and Baines is not being brought to the club to sit on the bench – a fact Evra is all too aware of.
The 32-year-old is keen on a move back to Ligue 1 and going full circle with a final big money contract with mega wealthy Monaco – a club he of course knows well having transferred to Old Trafford from the Stade Louis II.
