Nani has cut a forlorn figure for sometime at Manchester United, so it was no surprise to hear, during our late night lock-in at the Football Transfer Tavern, that Metro are reporting the winger could be off this summer.
Nani’s agent, Jorge Mendes told Radio Mena: “Nani is a good player – the whole world knows it. Will he go to Roma? Why not?
“Serie A is one of the best leagues in the world and Rome is a beautiful city. There is the possibility that he will leave United, but at the minute nothing is concrete.
“We will meet Manchester United and see, but there is interest.”
In recent months, the Portuguese international has enjoyed reported interest from Arsenal, Real Madrid and Juventus but it appears that Roma have moved to the front of the queue.
Nani only played 630 minutes of Premier League football under Sir Alex Ferguson last season and it sounds like the 26-year-old isn’t keen on waiting around to find out if new Red Devils boss, David Moyes has him in his plans.
Anyway, must go, a red nosed Scot has just come in, chewing gum and shouting: “Where is he? Nani cost me Champions League glory in my final season.” Any ideas who this, soon to be barred punter, is?
