Today Metro are providing us with plenty to talk about here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they note that Wilfried Zaha is keen to stay at Manchester United and fight for his first team spot this season.
Only last week we were considering the possibility of the player going out on loan and now it seems that not only do Manchester United want the winger to stay at Old Trafford, but since getting his first taste of action wearing the famous red shirt on the club’s Asian pre-season tour, Zaha wants to stay and fight too.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signing noted that life at the club was good and claimed that: “I’ve grafted to get here so Manchester United is where I want to stay,’
“I have moved away from most of my family and friends now, but it’s progress – everyone understands that.
“I wanted to make the move here because it is what is best for my career.”
The £15 million player made the most of his chance on his friendly debut and showed flashes of skill meaning that David Moyes will certainly be willing to give Ian Holloway’s former star man a chance in the first team. That is of course not such good news for Nani who will see his first team place threatened with his future under even more doubt.
