Manchester United ace targeted as ideal transfer replacement

David De Gea
Manchester United fans are looking uncomfortable in the Football Transfer Tavern after hearing that the champions of Europe are targeting their goalkeeper to replace the legendary Iker Casillas.

According to Marca, Real Madrid are targeting David De Gea as the ideal long-term replacement for the long serving Spanish international whose time at the club is nearing an end.

The 23-year-old is supposedly seen as the perfect player to step in for Casillas as he is set to become the number one keeper for Spain’s national side.

It is believed the hierarchy at Los Blancos are big fans of the youngster and they are confident that their big bucks and big presence will be enough to lure in the highly talented goalie.

Punters in the tavern believe that De Gea would be keen for a move to the Bernabeu for two main reasons.

Firstly, Manchester United are still very much a side in transition and in stark contrast, Real Madrid are a dominant force in football in a league which includes the two best players in the world, whilst two Spanish clubs also made the Champions League Final.

Secondly, the young man between the sticks has already impressed and looked comfortable in Spain’s top flight whilst playing at Atletico Madrid and this previous spell could help tempt him back to La Liga.

Although United fans are passionately arguing that the Spaniard is content in Manchester and that he has a big role to play in the rebuild of club.
