Manchester United aim to pip Tottenham to ‘new Ronaldo’

4415233Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are enjoying watching their new boss during the World Cup.

Louis van Gaal’s side are playing some cracking stuff this summer and fans are hoping he can recreate that in the Premier League next season.

And according to the Daily Star, he could bring one of his international stars with him as Manchester United reportedly eye Memphis Depay.

The 20-year old has already scored two goals this tournament helping to fire the Oranje into the next round.

He also netted 14 goals in 43 games last season at PSV Eindhoven and the Dutch club have already accepted that their star man is set to leave

But they won’t let him go on the cheap and will demand a £17 million fee from interested suitors, according to sources in Spain.

Depay is dubbed, by many, as the next Cristiano Ronaldo and its thought that Real Madrid as well as Tottenham are interested in luring him to their club.

But his relationship with Louis van Gaal is said to be a strong one and a move to Manchester, if any, looks the most likely.

The Dutchman has been handed a huge transfer kitty to work with when he takes over the club following the World Cup and it could pave the way for Depay to come to Manchester.
