There is huge news here in the Football Transfer Tavern, after the Daily Mail claimed that Paris Saint-Germain could well be set to lose Edinson Cavani, after the forward expressed a desire to leave.
Cavani has grown tired of playing second fiddle to the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and will not play on the wing any more.
This, as our landlord notes, has lead to several of our punters noting that there could well be a huge bidding war for Cavani, who may not be allowed to leave now, but he certainly will push for a move in the summer.
The player himself has claimed that he is unhappy with life in Ligue 1 and wants to make that elusive move to England.
Our regulars are getting rather excited over their nachos and beer deal and claim that both Chelsea and Manchester United will be keen on landing the Uruguayan star.
Cavani has been on the radar of Jose Mourinho for some time now and even during the Chelsea manager’s time at Real Madrid, he was a huge fan of the natural finisher.
Not only that, but David Moyes has a huge war chest to spend this summer and is looking to bring the club back to the top of the table – although some of our regulars think they may well need more than Cavani!
Is it a case of next stop Premier League for Edinson Cavani? Let us know your thoughts below.
