The Express has made a tense atmosphere in the Football Transfer Tavern as Arsenal and Manchester United will both go head to head, as they are chasing Hull’s star fullback, Andy Robertson.
The Scottish international has gathered interest after consistently putting in impressive performances in the Premier League this season.
He only cost Steve Bruce £2.85m from Dundee United in the summer and although Bruce would like him to stay longer, he will undoubtedly make a hefty profit, as he has been priced at £12m.
The 20-year-old left back has made such a big impact after his eight starts for the Tigers and Bruce has admitted that it would be hard to fend off the interest from the big boys.
Bruce said: “There has already been one or two with phone calls asking ‘to keep me informed’. That’s always the first stage.
“I had it with Palacios when I was at Wigan and then Valencia when he went off to Man Utd. And if this kid keeps performing the way he is then it might become inevitable.
“I spoke to Gordon about him in the summer. He threw him in against Nigeria for his first cap. He took to it like a duck to water, and he has done exactly the same when offered the challenge with us.”
