Manchester United and Arsenal target pens new deal

The Football Transfer Tavern is packed to the rafters tonight as punters enjoy an evening beer when news filters through from talkSPORT that Manchester United and Arsenal target Sofiane Feghouli has signed a new contract with Valencia.

Both of the Premier League clubs had been tracking the 23-year-old attacking midfielder, however hopes of landing the promising Algerian international have all but disappeared after he signed a new long-term deal until 2016 with the La Liga club.

The former French youth international, who changed his allegiance to Algeria in 2011, departs for the African Cup of Nations in the next few weeks and the Spanish side were determined to have his signature sealed before he put himself further in the shop window with his performances for the Fennec Foxes at the upcoming African tournament.

It was thought that Feghouli could offer a solution to the midfield problem at United, however Sir Alex Ferguson will now have to look elsewhere while Arsene Wenger was also believed to be a admirer of the former Grenoble man.

Are you gutted that the talented midfielder won’t be featuring in the Premier League anytime soon? Vote in our polls below.
