Manchester United and Chelsea seemingly handed encouraging boost ahead of summer window

Our Chelsea and Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern have seen their side’s rivalry seemingly go up another notch in recent months.

The Blues and United have become rather familiar foes at the top of the tree in English football during the Abramovich era with Chelsea currently on top.

Of course, Jose Mourinho is going to be desperate to change that with him now at United and he’s certainly gone about trying to disrupt Antonio Conte and his men as much as possible this campaign.

The battle, then, should be fierce when they face one another this weekend whilst it also appears the pair have been given a boost in their chase for Alvaro Morata.

The Spanish international has not been a regular player at Real Madrid once again this season and now Calciomercato reckon that he will not be off to Serie A anytime soon from the Bernabeu.

That, then, comes as a boost for the striker-linked pair as they both look to strengthen their sides ahead of what will be a fascinating 2017/18 campaign.
