Manchester United and Chelsea set to miss out on 36-goal striker as talks begin with French giants

HiguainThe Manchester United and Chelsea fans regularly enjoy some friendly banter here in the Transfer Tavern and both of their clubs have lots of work to do in the summer, following disappointing Premier League campaigns.

The duo of giants were set to go head-to-head this summer to secure the services of in-form striker Gonzalo Higuain, although the chances of the Napoli man coming to the Premier League are now seemingly slim.

According to The Sun, the 36-goal talisman is in talks with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain over a move to the club, rather than the Premier League.

The Parisians are looking for a new striker with Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to depart and they will be hopeful that the signing of the Argentinean can boost their chances of success in the Champions League next season.

One Chelsea fan is sat waiting for the pool tournament to begin here in the Tavern and he thinks that both the Blues and Manchester United have missed a trick in not moving sooner for Higuain.

Manchester United and Chelsea supporters… Just how disappointing is this news? Were you hopeful of signing the striker?
