The Mirror bring reports that scouts from Manchester United and Liverpool watched the 17-year-old in action again this weekend, with whispers growing that a transfer battle could be on the cards for the Scottish youngster.
Gauld’s performances for The Terrors have been winning may plaudits lately, but his exceptional display on Saturday has really brought him to attention of top Premier League clubs.
He has recently linked with a shock move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, who have also reportedly spotted his talent, but United and Liverpool are now thought to be at the front of the queue for his signature.
While Dundee United are understood to be eager to keep hold of the youngster, the Scotland U-21 international could be available for around £6m in January as both clubs plot possible moves for the midfielder.
