Manchester United attempted to sign World Cup hero ‘at all costs’

muller.jpgManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern were gutted to have been linked to German hero Thomas Muller in the summer but not manage to pull the transfer off- but it appears it wasn’t for a lack of trying.

The punters were impressed to hear comments from super-agent Giovanni Branchini, who stated United tried to bring the 26-year-old to Old Trafford and were willing to pay whatever it would take.

A reader of the Daily Mail by the jukebox alerted us to this story, where Branchini revealed a secret to Italian publication TuttoMercato– declaring it took him days to get across the fact that Bayern Munich would never sell Muller.

Our regulars don’t doubt Branchini’s knowledge, as the man has been involved in football for the past two decades and has represented the likes of Rui Costa, Clarence Seedorf and the original Ronaldo in his time.

Bayern have made it pretty clear Thomas Muller will be going nowhere, as the club’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently told Bild the German was ‘priceless’.

Manchester United fans, are you gutted this transfer never occurred or do you accept your side tried everything they could? Let us know in the comments below!
